Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration
Sunday Dec.  3

 History Westport Community Church
1211 Main Road, Westport Island

A wonderful WCA seasonal tradition! Get into the holiday spirit singing Christmas Carols with a choir under the oil lamps in the historic church and then move outside to participate in the lighting of the Westport Christmas tree. Then warm up in the Old Town Hall for a buffet of Christmas goodies and hot drinks.

Trivia and Chowder Night

A popular event from last year returned!  A night of trivia and chowder tasting contest! Lots of people showed up with crocks of all kinds of chowder to enter into a contest after being sampled by everyone. Trivia was a blast, too! Thank you to all of you who joined us!

Concert Event; Featuring Alison Lee Freeman and The Shipmates
Sunday May 21, 3-5pm | Historic Community Church

We started the summer season off with a late afternoon concert followed by refreshments featuring singers/musicians from the Midcoast area–Alison Lee Freeman and The Shipmates! What a blast they were!

Annual Meeting Meet-n-Greet
Beer and Wine Tasting

Old Town Hall

New neighbors and old friends alike came out to enjoy the crowd pleasing Wine & Beer Tasting with a delicious assortment artisan cheeses, fruit and a home made sweets at the Old Town Hall. The event wrapped up with a brief Annual Meeting where Westport Community Association members voted in new officers. Special thanks to our event Sponsor – Sasanoa Brewing Company, a new local brewery of Belgian organic farmhouse beer by the Islands own master brewer Kyle DePietro. 

Westport Island WVFD Benefit BBQ,
Saturday July 8
5 pm

Held on the Lawn between Old Town Hall & Historic Church

Westport’s Annual benefit event brought to you by the Westport Volunteer Fire Department and Westport Community Association. The WVFD cooked an excellent BBQ meal for everyone, the WCA had a scrumptious buffet of desserts, and everyone listened to some great tunes provided by Back to Basics Blue Grass Band, enjoyed games for the kids and had great chats with other islanders!

This is annual event was a fundraiser. The Westport Volunteer Fire Departments relies on donations for operation.

Ice Cream Social

Old Town Hall

The August weather was perfect for this event! Lots of folks came out to eat ice cream, socialize and play lots of out door. We had bad mitten, croquet, horse shoes, bocci, basketball, and toys to enjoy! This event was free and many people brought donations for the Westport Food Pantry/Helping Hands.

Westport Island Cemetery Tour
Sat. Sept. 23

Old Town Hall

For the history and genealogy lovers in the area, the Westport Community Association, Westport Island History Committee and the Westport Island Cemetery Committee teamed up to sponsor a tour of some of Westport Island’s cemetery treasures! A great crowd of folks came ready to learn about the history of the area and its early settlers as we led three vehicle caravan tours that day.

Halloween Party

Old Town Hall

The Old Town Hall was transformed with Halloween decor and lights–and as always, it was a fun night for all–with dancing, a live DJ, costume contests and spooky refreshments.
